They can and probably will help you lose weight in the short-term. But what you really want is lasting weight loss that will not come back. Many weight loss pills only help you lose water or muscle mass not fat. They contain stimulants that force the body to shed excess water.
But as soon as you stop taking them you gain the water and the weight right back. Additionally you are less healthy than when you started taking the diet pills. This method often starts an up-and-down roller coaster with your weight which is not a healthy for your body.
What you want is a weight loss method that gives you lasting results and steadily removes weight and tones your muscles. This will give you a lean and healthy look.
So how do you do it you ask?
You start off with a three-part plan to lose weight and gain muscle and better overall fitness.
Mindset: This starts with a decision, your decision that you will start a diet and improve your nutrition along with adding exercise to your daily regimen. To start off with mindset is ALL important so you realize right up front that you are changing your lifestyle forever.
Once you wrap your mind around the fact that you can't eat all the pizza and beer you want on a daily basis and have to eat healthy every day you are ready for the next two parts. Most people will tell you that you can't eat junk foods. But I'll tell you what you can eat.
Diet: The diet part of your weight loss plan isto keep LEAN, You will eat lean meats for your protein, meats such as Beef, Chicken, Turkey, pork and, Tuna, white fish. These meats should be grilled and not fried in oil or butter. You can substitute chicken broth if you want to fry in a pan.
You also should start consuming large quantities of fresh vegetables. I know you don't want to do it and you don't like them but you have to. You should be striving to eat at least 4 cups of vegetables per day. I like to buy fresh vegetables and grilled them along with my meat, but its okay if you choose frozen vegetable medley's which are pretty tasty and still more nutritious than what you were eating.
I would also add fresh fruits to your menu daily but just bear in mind that fruits have natural sugar and you will not lose as much weight if you consume canned fruits and sugar-water. Eat fresh fruits such as Apples, Strawberries, Blue berries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Oranges and Bananas.
You must STOP eating large amounts of carbohydrates and cereals. They add bulk and fat very easily. If you eat enough vegetables and fruits you should have a sufficient source of fiber but you could add a fiber supplement if you become irregular. Grains and cereals are full of chemicals that are bad for your body.
It's important to know that the process of elimination will process the fat along with the foods that you eat, and that's what helps you lose weight.
You also have to crank up your metabolism, for a man to increase his metabolism is much easier than for a woman and all you have to do is exercise. Now I'm not talking about turning you into Arnold Schwarzenegger but you should put in about 45 minutes per day either doing cardio or weightlifting. You should vary your cardio and weightlifting every other day and should take at least two days off every week.
For cardio you can take a fast walk, or jog, ride a bike, swimming, or even mowing your lawn with a push lawnmower will give you the cardio you need to increase your metabolism.
Weightlifting for men will help firm up your muscles so they don't look flabby. Don't just concentrate on one area of the body. You should alternate between upper body exercises and lower body exercises in and even distribution between these areas. Far too many men concentrate on the abs and the arms too much and end up with a huge upper torso on tiny legs.
When weightlifting keep in mind we are not training for the Olympics, low weights and slow motions with proper form is the best way to keep your muscles toned without all the pain of lifting heavy weights.
So forget the diet pills because 95% of them are a fraud and can cause more problems than they solve.
